MICHAEL C. FINA IS SEEING S.T.A.R.S.
Michael C. Fina is a company that prides itself on practicing what it preaches, so we are all very excited about the launch of our new internal points-based recognition program called S.T.A.R.S. (Saluting Talent and Rewarding Success). S.T.A.R.S. will run on our proprietary Total Vision Recognition points platform, or TVR. TVR brings all of a company’s recognition objectives under one umbrella, supporting initiatives such as attendance, safety awareness, birthdays, sales incentives, health & wellness, service anniversaries, nominations, training and on-the-spot recognition.
S.T.A.R.S. is an enhancement to our own successful employee recognition strategy that includes service awards, on-the-spot recognition, and an online peer-to-peer nomination program called RAVE. In addition to company-wide initiatives that support our core values, such as going above and beyond, creativity and productivity, and working as a team, each department was responsible for developing their own specific performance-based initiatives. For instance, our Customer Experience team will award points for meeting benchmarks for email and phone response times, and our Merchandising department will dole out points to employees who refresh our extensive gift selection within a specified timeframe.
And speaking of gifts, because S.T.A.R.S. is built on our TVR platform, employees can choose from an absolutely MASSIVE gift selection that includes millions of brand name products, travel packages, event tickets and experience gifts. All employees have secure accounts that allow them to see only those initiatives for which they’re eligible to participate, as well as their points balance. Once they’ve earned points, they’re able to redeem them for a gift of their choosing, or save them for gifts at higher point values.
Personally, I’m saving my points for a 4 night Caribbean cruise.
